The House of Representatives has asked Nigerians to allow due process of investigation by the Nigeria Police Force on the alleged assault by lawmaker, Alex Ikwechegh against Uber driver, Stephen Abuwatseya. The Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Akin Rotimi, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

DAILY POST reports Ikwechegh was seen on video assaulting Abuwatseya. The lawmaker, representing Abia State, had threatened to make the Abuwatseya 'disappear'. In response to the incident and wide-spread outrage, the police said it has detained Ikwechegh and commenced an investigation. Reacting to the development, the lawmakers said they are saddened by the development. “The House of Representatives is monitoring media reports concerning an alleged incident involving Rep.
