President Muhammadu Buhari has narrated how he lost two children from his late first wife, Safinatu Buhari to sickle cell anaemia. Buhari made this known in a documentary played at a private dinner organised by his family and close associates to mark his 80th birthday on Friday night at the State House Banquet Hall. Safinatu was a Nigerian teacher and First Lady of Nigeria from 1983 to 1985. She was the first wife of Muhammadu Buhari. According to the President, he insisted that his second wife must be an AA genotype because of that.
