Ekiti State Commissioner for Health, Dr Mojisola Yaya-Kolade, said on Monday that two health workers were among the four new COVID-19 cases in the state.
Yaya-Kolade said that the remaining two were a patient who defied the lockdown and traveled to and from Lagos and an elderly citizen who did not have travel history.
The commissioner, who spoke in Ado Ekiti during the update on COVID-19 in Ekiti State, said the new cases recorded in the state were not due to community spread. Yaya-Kolade said, “Government is doing everything possible within its capacity to prevent community spread of the virus. Ekiti people are to always put on facemask, ensure social distancing and prevent activities that could endanger their health. The use of face masks, social distancing and the closed borders are still in force.”All rights reserved.
