A Non-Governmental Organisation, Compassion for the Aged Foundation, has said old people should not be neglected but should be taken care of, having sacrificed a lot in bringing up their children.

Also speaking, an agriculturist in the community, Pastor Michael Jayeola, said “once we attain the age of 50, there are certain habits we should drop, while we embrace new lifestyles and pay adequate attention to our health.”

A medical personnel, Mrs Temitope Oluwalere, who gave a wellness talk at the event, warned against self-medication. She then enjoined senior citizens to always visit a healthcare facility closer to them for proper medical treatment. She admonished participants to maintain a clean environment and avoid open defecation to prevent the outbreak of diseases, reiterating that ‘health is wealth’.

The effort of the foundation was commended by the Baale of Wooro Village, Chief Ismaila Sowale, and his counterpart from Ilogbo, Pa Clement Ariyibi. On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Omolayo Adebayo of Eforon Village, Mr Kareem Akiniyi of Owu Village and Mrs Noimot Isiaka from Eleepo Aran, said the interventions of the foundation since 2022 had improved their wellness. All rights reserved.
