December 23, 2022"The Labour Party leadership is moving the party more rightward and blocking left and radical elements from emerging as candidates of the party.”

The group in a communiqué signed by its two co-Chairpersons, Ayo Ademiluyi and Kunle Wiseman Ajayi, and issued on Thursday at the end of its national symposium, described Obi as an anti-poor element whose programme was against socialist agenda. The group stated that while it intervened in the processes of rank and file workers' mobilisation by the leaderships of the labour centres up to May 1, 2022, it “condemns in totality the queuing up of rank and file workers and youths behind an outright anti-poor element such as Peter Obi by the leaderships of labour centres as the presidential candidate of the party.”
