A group, Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room, has blamed the low turnout of women for voter registration on the alleged domination of the political space by their male counterparts.

“It could be that women are now questioning themselves on the recognition of their leadership. I cannot at this point quote directly because it is a research issue. However, women are known to be a voting population, not a representative population.

“I am not sure that at the end of the day, the men who will come out to vote will be higher but let’s wait and see.”
