Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Delta State Command, has presented an Award of Excellence to The Guardian correspondent in Delta State, Monday Osayande, for unbiased reportage of its “core mandates” over the years.

The state Commandant, Mr. Akinsanya Abiodun, said the award was “in recognition of the correspondent’s contributions to its achievements by letting the public know about its activities in the state.”

Abiodun said: “The Guardian Newspapers remain one of the print media organisations that has put NSCDC in the limelight among other sister security agencies, through objective and accurate reports of our activities to the nation and beyond.” While commending the management and staff of the newspaper, the NSCDC boss asked that the good relationship existing between them be sustained. He also presented award of excellence to journalists at NTA, AIT, Plus Tv, Bridge Radio, Delta Broadcasting Service, Radio Nigeria, The Pointer newspaper and Federal Information. Osayande thanked NSCDC for the awards on behalf of the awardees.
