Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has admonished Muslims across the country to imbibe the lessons learnt from the holy month of Ramadan. Governor Ododo stated this after observing his prayer on Wednesday in commemoration of the Eid-el-Fitr in Okene, Kogi State.

According to him, 'The month of Ramadan is not only a time of food and drinks. It is a time of spiritual requirements and compassion for one another. 'The month of Ramadan is a time that teaches us patience, empathy, love and understanding within and among our people. As we mark the end of the Ramadan fast, I am urging each and every one of us to carry forward the lessons we learnt in this month of Ramadan .

Responding to the recent attack in Omala Local Government that claimed scores of lives, Governor Ododo told journalists that the suspected sponsors have been arrested. He said, 'Reacting to noise makers, and those that do not have a stake as far as governance is concerned is not part of the mandate given to me by the good people of Kogi State and Mr President. The crisis in Bagana in Omala Local Government did not start today. It has been in existence for over 45 years ago, precisely 1978.
