Dr. Mbah said that the peace and security Gov. Ugwuanyi has entrenched in Enugu State in the last seven and half years brought extensive infrastructural development to the state.

Stressing that Gov. Ugwuanyi is the leader of the PDP in Enugu State and the South East geo-political zone, the PDP governorship candidate maintained that the governor has really shown true leadership which has ensured that “we are still and remain one political family”. “Your Excellency, why today is very symbolic is that the people of Oganiru Enugu State have come to say that we are not outsiders; we are part and parcel of our great party, the PDP; we will not want to be treated as outsiders.”

The PDP guber candidate who expressed concern over the travail of Sen. Ekweremadu in London, said that the prayers and thoughts of members of the PDP family are with the Senator and his family, “and with faith, we pray that in no distant time, he is going to join us in the party.” The governor enjoined members of the group and others to book Mass for the Senator and his family every week and equally embark on private prayers for him to overcome his challenges.

The award, more or less, coincided with the confirmation by the National Bureau of Statistics that Ogun State, with its N100.9bn revenue profile in 2021, is one of the states with the highest internally generated revenue nationwide, coming only after Nigeria’s economic capital, Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory, and Rivers State, a top oil-producing state. If anything, the award is cheering news for all and sundry in Ogun State, recognising the governor’s resolve to bring positive development to the state, especially in the area of industrialisation. There is no state that can develop without industry and, contrary to the submissions of naysayers, a silent revolution has, in the last three and a half years, actually been ongoing on in the Gateway State.
