Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has pledged full support to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), assuring that his administration will not take the issue of drug abuse lightly.
A statement issued by the governor's spokesman, Suleiman Bala Idris, indicated that the agency has raised significant concerns about the challenges it's facing in the fight against drug abuse in the state. According to the statement, the governor reiterated his commitment to collaborating with the agency to ensure a drug-free state.
As many of the bandits operate under the influence of drugs, it is our responsibility to find a lasting solution to the issue.' The governor further promised to renovate the Gusau rehabilitation centre, provide proper accommodation and offices for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency , and supply the agency's officers with operational vehicles for efficient operations.
