Terrorists kill two, abduct COE lecturer, three others in Zamfara

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have once again attacked Maru town, the headquarters of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing two persons and abducting four, including a lecturer from the College of State Education (COE).

According to a resident of the area, Usman Ibrahim, the gunmen stormed Maru town last Saturday night, killing two people and abducting four others, including Nasiru Mohammed Anka, a lecturer at the College of Education Maru. 'The terrorists entered the town with sophisticated weapons and began shooting sporadically. Later, they moved from house to house, where they abducted four people. 'They also opened fire on others who tried to escape the abduction.

' According to another resident, Isiaku, last Saturday's attack on Maru town was the fourth of its kind in just one month, and he appealed to the state government and other relevant authorities to take serious measures to address the dire situation. 'The terrorists have been attacking the town, even though it is a local government headquarters and very close to the Gusau-Sokoto road. Just last week, they attacked the town.
