The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal , has said the state's monthly internally generated revenue grew to N1.3 billion under his administration from below N90 million. He disclosed on Thursday when he visited Managing Director of Galaxy Backbone, Prof Ibrahim Adeyanyu in Abuja. According to him, the quantum leap in the state revenue generation under his administration was facilitated by technology.
'It is interesting to know when we took over, our Internally Generated Revenue was just under N90 million as a state which shows that something fundamental was wrong. “We made conscious efforts to change the trend. Technology was what we used in changing the trend by blocking leakages in the system. I am happy to say that as of today our IGR has grown to N1.3 billion', he said.
