Nigerian gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi has been charged with the murder of his alleged girlfriend, Salome Adaidu. The arrest followed a discovery of blood dripping from Ajayi's luggage by a motorcyclist transporting him. Ajayi has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Nasarawa State police confirmed that Ajayi faces one count of culpable homicide punishable by death. According to the prosecution, Ajayi murdered Adaidu on January 12th at his residence in the Papalana axis of New Karshi.
The victim, a Youth Corps member serving in Abuja, was allegedly killed after discovering messages suggesting infidelity. Ajayi, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, reportedly confessed to the murder during interrogation, claiming Adaidu's messages led him to attack her. However, Adaidu's family disputes Ajayi's claims, insisting there was no romantic relationship and alleging that Adaidu was kidnapped. Adaidu's sister revealed disturbing discoveries at Ajayi's residence, including a pool of blood in the toilet, a bench in his room, and an unusual amount of tomatoes. There also appeared to be a table with a cutlass, a mop, and buckets of water, raising suspicions about the singer's intentions. The family demands justice and insists that Ajayi faces the full consequences of his actions. The case has been adjourned to March 17th for a hearing
