The Gombe State government has banned the inter-state and intra-state movement of cattle, under-aged cattle rearing and night grazing by herdsmen in the state, until the end of January 2023.
The state’s Commissioner for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Mohammed Magaji Gettado disclosed this to newsmen at the end of the state Executive Council, presided over by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.He explained that the council banned the movement as part of measures to forestall the possibility of farmers/herder clashes, which usually occur during the harvest of farm produce.
