Gombe State government has secured a N5 billion loan from Family Housing Fund to construct 1,000 houses.
It also said that following the mayhem over the Mai Tangale stool in Billiri a few months ago, properties worth over N543 million were destroyed. The commissioner for information and strategy, Julius Ishaya, made the disclosure yesterday when he briefed reporters at the Exco Chamber, Government House, Gombe shortly after the executive council meeting presided over by governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.Ishaya told journalists that Family Housing Fund, provides loans for housing scheme across the country, which some states like Bauchi had accessed.
The commissioner said the housing loan would be used for affordable 1000 housing units for middle-class civil servants in the state. On the Billiri crisis, Ishaya disclosed that the committee set up to assess the extent of destruction during the mayhem, submitted its report to the council yesterday.
