PETALING JAYA: Young wingback Azam Azmi Murad has had a superb 2022 for club and country.
The 20-year-old has been nominated as one of the top three players for the Best Young Player award in the National Football Awards 2022, which will be held virtually on Thursday.
Terengganu’s Azam has been prominent on the right flank in 31 games, helping the Turtles finish runners-up in the Super League and FA Cup. Azam said the nomination was a recognition for defenders as he felt that players who held those positions were given less attention compared to strikers and midfielders.
“I would like to thank the coach and the Terengganu team who always believed in me. The 2022 season is one of the sweetest moments in my career.
