A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the state Head of Service, Murtala Atoyebi in Ilorin on Wednesday, disclosed that “the government was set to provide succor for workers that could not be covered by the reduction in workdays due to peculiar nature of their official duties. “To this end, the government is working to provide appropriate allowances to support these categories of workers as a stop-gap measure, pending conclusions on the review of minimum wage.”
DAILY POST recalls that the state government had on Monday announced reduction in workdays from five to three days for its civil servants as part of efforts to address the challenges of fuel subsidy removal.
