Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has dissolved the state’s seventh assembly.
Bello announced the dissolution of the assembly at a valedictory session of the legislature yesterday in Lokoja.
The governor who appreciated the members that served in the sixth and seventh assembly for their contributions stressed that the All Progressives Congress remains a winning team in Kogi State. Bello emphasized that there is need for them to activate the spirit of tolerance, irrespective of religion, tribe or political affiliations.
The governor commended journalists for ensuring factual reportage in promoting peace and tranquility in the state and promised that his administration would continue to come after criminal elements in the state. In his valedictory speech, the outgoing speaker of the assembly Hon. Mathew Kolawole, said the assembly lost two members during their tenure. He named the deceased members as Dcn. John Abba of Ibaji Constituency and Jimoh Musa Omiata of Yagba East state constituency.
