Fuel, Naira crisis: Oyo governor suspends campaign activities via xtradotnet
Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, the state’s Information, Culture, and Tourism Commissioner, confirmed the news. He said Governor Makinde, who was in Ido to keep campaigning, told everyone to stop until further notice.
Olatubosun said that Governor Makinde said his people are suffering too much and that he was elected to look out for their best interests and well-being. He said Governor Makinde told Party leaders in Oyo State to stop the campaign when he opened the Omi Adio-Ido Road with an emotional speech. “As a mark of honour to citizens and residents of Oyo State, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has directed that all campaign activities of the party at all levels be suspended until further notice,” the statement said.
He also said, “Governor Seyi Makinde’s love for his people necessitated this unprecedented move, at this time.
