As you may know, smartphones also have emulators these days. The Apple App Store has seen a slew of emulators since Apple lifted restrictions a few weeks back. Of the bunch, a PS1 emulator has been taking the App Store by storm.
According to IGN, the free Sony PS1 emulator named Gamma has been a big hit on the App Store. The emulator lets you play retro PlayStation 1 games on compatible iPhones and iPads. It supports Bluetooth controllers and keyboards, features customisable on-screen controller skins, and more. However, note that not all Bluetooth controllers would be supported. That's likely something the developer has to sort out.
The great thing about this emulator is that it doesn't require a BIOS file to run. However, it's not all a bed of roses. Reddit users have reported seeing ads on the app and claim that it tracks their data. With the app being free, ads are probably the developer's source of income. If that bothers you, wait for a better emulator without data tracking or ads.
Have any of you tried this emulator? What's your experience with it so far? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for news like this.
