Former Imo State Governor Ikedi Ohakim has categorically denied rumours linking him to the next President-General position of the Ohanaeze
Ndigbo, a leading Igbo socio-cultural organization.
In a statement he personally signed, the ex-governor stated, “I have no knowledge of any plans to elect or appoint me as the next President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. No individual or group has contacted me, neither have I expressed interest in the position.” The former governor expressed frustration at being inundated with calls for clarification as the reports circulated widely across media outlets.
Ohakim further urged the public to respect the memory of the late Iwuanyanwu, noting that this is a time for mourning, not politicking.
