According to the statement, the women, who flew in from Abuja, landed at Maiduguri International Airport before moving by road on a 135km-long trip to Damaturu.
While addressing the victims of the flood disaster, Tinubu said, “We found it necessary to visit Yobe State to commiserate with the people over the natural disaster that has destroyed their livelihoods. We sympathised with the victims and prayed that God averts a recurrence.” Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, who warmly received the delegation, appreciated them for the visit and donations, adding that the donated cash and food items would go a long way to bring succour to the victims.
The delegation also visited the palace of the Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji Shehu Hashimi Ibn El-Kanemi II, where they commiserated with the monarch over the death of his son, Abba Sadiq Shehu Hashimi.All rights reserved.
