Fishermen Association of Nigeria (FAN) urged the Ondo State government to enforce the use of life jackets on the state's waterways.
Following the death of five persons in a boat mishap at Ugbo Nla in Ilaje LGA of Ondo State, the Fishermen Association of Nigeria has called on the state government to enforce the use of life jackets on the state’s waterways.
He said using a life jacket would significantly enhance safety and increase the chances of survival during emergencies. Mr Gbayisemore also urged the state government to dredge and clear the waterways to facilitate safe and unobstructed movement for passengers.
