FAAN affirms Bi-courtney’s 36-yr concession vanguardngr.com vanguardnews
Following a statement released by Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria , Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited [BASL], operator of the Murtala Muhammed Airport 2, is justified in its claim of 36 years validity on the Build-Operate-Transfer concession model of the airport terminal.
The agreed extension to 36years was not disclosed, instead the report said the 12-year agreement would expire on May 7, 2019, which was the exact date the terminal commenced operations with flight service by the defunct Chanchangi Airlines. Reacting to the report, BASL said the MMA2 concession was valid for 36 years which had yet to expire.
It added that the agreement was further confirmed at a meeting held on July 7, 2009 chaired by a former President, the late Umaru Musa Yar’adua.
