The most widely read newspaper in Nigeria
Five years after completing their studies for a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, ex-students of the National Teachers’ Institute in the South-West region have lamented the failure of the institution to release their results or issue their certificates.
The ex-student said, “The management of the NTI and the University of Ibadan are holding on to our results since 2017, causing untold hardship to us. The NTI PGDE was structured to run within a session for working class students, who intended to become professional and certified teachers. “Out of the six zones, students in the South-West are the ones that have yet to get their results and certificates. But the NTI keeps admitting more students for the programme in the region when it has not released the results and certificates for three consecutive sets.”
An ex-student, who did the programme in affiliation with the University of Ilorin, said, “I did the PGDE programme in 2018 with the NTI and because I’m based in Abuja, I was affiliated to the University of Ilorin. But I have got my result and I have a reseat, but some of my colleagues, who passed all their papers, have got theirs.”
