Former Chelsea star, Shaun Wright-Phillips has suggested to the Blues not to sign Victor Osimhen in the next transfer window. According to him, Chelsea should instead sign an experience defender to replace Thiago Silva after letting the Brazilian leave Stamford Bridge some months ago.

Chelsea were linked with Osimhen before the Nigeria international eventually joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in the summer. The Blues also allowed Silva to leave the club after his contract expired.

'I think Victor Osimhen would be a top player in the Premier League, but I wouldn’t necessarily say that the striker position is where Chelsea should be prioritising in the next few transfer windows,' Wright-Phillips told Sportscasting 'They let Thiago Silva go, but they didn’t replace him. I think they need more experience in the defence rather than in the striker position right now. 'They are not struggling to score goals. That is not a problem for them right now.
