The Federal Road Safety Corps has urged Nigerians to be safety conscious while driving during the Easter celebration.

The FRSC Corps Marshal Dauda Biu said this in a statement signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, on Saturday, in Abuja.

Biu congratulated all Christians on the Easter celebration and called for deep reflection on the need to show love to others especially while using the road. “I wish to seize the opportunity of the Easter celebration to call for deep reflection by people on the need for attitudinal change towards road safety and collective campaign against the menace of road traffic crashes in the country,” he said.

Biu also urged road users to observe traffic rules and regulations to ensure crash and obstruction-free festivities.The FRSC boss advised motorists to drive defensively by observing traffic rules and regulations to achieve the goal of zero fatality during the festivities. Biu said that the increase in human and vehicular movements across the country during Easter usually placed enormous pressure on the FRSC to effectively contain the traffic upsurge.
