Curfew: Anambra police arrests 42 violators, impounds eight vehicles

The police also impounded eight vehicles belonging to violators of the curfew. The arrest were on Tuesday, being the second day of the issuance of the order.

The State command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Mohammed stated this in a press release made available to DAILY POST on Wednesday. He said, “Number of violators arrested are 42 and 8 vehicles impounded. Suspects were served with arraignment notice and granted bail.” He described the level of compliance as being satisfactory, saying that the Commissioner of Police, John B.Abang, had enjoined the public to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies in order to enhance safety and Security in the State.

DAILY POST correspondent who moved round the state capital city of Awka on Tuesday night noticed that businesses closed earlier than normal, while most roads were blocked by security agents.
