COVID-19: Nigerian govt reveals why lockdown was relaxed, issues warning
The federal government has admitted that it relaxed the lockdown that lasted about two months, to prevent the economy from collapsing.
The Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Dr. Sani Aliyu, stated this during Thursday’s daily briefing in Abuja, the nation’s capital.“We relaxed the lockdown not because COVID-19 has gone, but to ensure the economy does not collapse.As at today, there are 17,735 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
