COVID-19: New study says pregnant moms can’t infect unborn babies
A new study conducted by researchers at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, revealed it is uncommon for COVID-19 to spread from a mother to her newborn baby during pregnancy.
The researchers also found that babies that did test positive for COVID-19, were mostly asymptomatic. One of the researchers and Clinical Associate Professor in Obstetrics from the University of Nottingham, Dr. Kate Walker, said, “There has been a lot of concern around whether pregnant women should be concerned for the health of their babies if they contract COVID-19.
