COVID-19 cases increase by 42 percent in Africa
The health agency stated this in a tweet on its official Twitter handle on Wednesday morning.
The tweet read: “As of 9 am EAT 05 May 2020, a total of 47,118 COVID-19 cases and 1,843 deaths have been reported in 53 African countries.“There is a 19% increase in cases reported between 28 April – 5 May 2020 compared to a 24% increase in cases reported between 21-28 April 2020.”
