Covid-19: Abia govt orders seizure of vehicles, tricycles who violate lockdown directive
The state government also gave the security agencies the power to keep the arrested vehicles in their custody for a minimum of 7 days.
However, a press release issued to newsmen in Umuahia, on Wednesday, by the State Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi Kalu, said only vehicles transporting food items and those exempted from the lockdown are allowed to be on the road. The Comptroller of the State Fire Service, Gbaruko Victor Okechukwu, gave the warning in a press statement on Wednesday.
