They are expected to arrive at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, later Friday evening, said Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
She noted that the evacuees all tested negative for coronavirus before the flight took off from India, adding that they would observe the new evacuation protocol announced by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.that the repatriation flight is being operated by a Nigerian airline, Air Peace.
“Based on the new protocol announced by the PTF, flight with evacuees from India on board Air Peace expected later this evening in Abuja. All onboard tested and negative. Been tough and rough for them but glad are finally on their way home,” she wrote.Earlier, the High Commission of India in Abuja while announcing the evacuation of 312 Indian nationals from Nigeria onboard Air Peace, revealed that the airline would also repatriate stranded Nigerians from India on its way back.
