Two speakers have emerged out of the leadership crisis of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Tuesday.
The oath of office was administered to him by the acting clerk of the House, Mr Ibrahim Musa.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the first session of the 7th Assembly was slated for inauguration following the dissolution of the 6th Assembly last week. An Assembly source had alerted LEADERSHIP at about 4:00am yesterday that some persons believed to be lawmakers were trying to gain access to the premises.
About 15 minutes later two Hilux vans loaded with men and officers of the Department of State Service also arrived at the scene. They barricaded the entrance to the main gate to the Assembly complex. According to him, the Ogazi’s camp are in the majority, noting, “we will defeat them if it comes to voting on the floor of the Assembly.”
