President Bola Tinubu, state governors and other leaders in the country have been charged to see themselves as servant leaders if they are to succeed in impacting effectively on the citizenry.
The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, BCS, which issued the charge on Saturday, said leaders would also do well to demonstrate love for their fellow citizens and lead them with the fear of God. Deputy spokesman of the BCS, Archbishop Emmanuel Ekuri who spoke at a press briefing in Yola Saturday morning, said the virtues of servant leadership, love for humanity and fear of God which were the teachings of founder of the organisation, Olumba Olumba Obu, are necessary for progress in any society.
He advised leaders to stop searching vainly for peace from men and focus on the peace that comes from God, for God alone can give peace to the world. The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star hosted its press briefing in Yola and three other centres around the country as a prelude to activities lined up for this year's celebration of the founder, Olumba Obu.
