e NLC urged the court to vacate the interim order in the interest of justice for the Nigerian workers.The Nigerian Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress have urged the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, sitting in Abuja to set aside its interim order restraining workers from embarking on strike action until the determination of the motion on notice filed by the federal government and the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.

President Bola Tinubu’s recent declaration that subsidy “is gone forever” had resulted sharp hike in fuel prices as well as instant increase transportation fare across the country. “The claimants’/Applicants suit as presently constituted and the reliefs sought offends the lucid provisions of Section 254C of the 1999 Constitution and section 7 of the National Industrial Court Act 2006 and thus the ex-parte order liable to set aside.

“The Claimants/Applicants suit offends the lucid provisions of Order 3 Rules 1 and 6 of the National Industrial Court Civil Procedure Rules, 2017.
