Breaking: Gunmen open fire at polling unit in Delta vanguardngr.com vanguardnews
The incidents occurred during the collation of results in some polling units in Ughelli South local government area of the state.
Though the identity of the dead could not be ascertained as at press time, the victim was shot dead at Iwhrekan community while others whom were equally attacked, were ambushed at Oviri-Olomu and Ovwookpokpo communities. Speaking on the incident, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the area, said all those attacked are members of the All Progressives Congress, APC.Meanwhile, the PDP Delta Central campaign chairman, Chief Fred Majemite, has described the elections as peaceful amidst massive turnout of voters.
