The Benue State government has inaugurated two committees to recover all looted government properties by the immediate past administration.
The chief press secretary to the governor who disclosed this in a statement said the state Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia who inaugurated the committees gave their names as Assets Recovery and Benue State University facts finding committees
According to him, “One of the committees is to work at the state level, and at the local government levels Governor Alia through his chief press secretary, had a few days ago decried the looting of government houses by the immediate past governor, Samuel Ortom led administration. He said “The PDP looted government house to a point that the new government under him met no single car or truck in government house. The governor’s visits to agencies and parastatals have uncovered the highest level of rot ever witnessed in the history of Benue State”.
The CPS said the committees, among other things are mandated to ascertain all assets of the government including lands, vehicles, houses, furniture and other machinery.
