“I am not an accidental leader.” Nigeria

Alaibe, while addressing journalists in Yenagoa, yesterday, ahead of Tuesday’s governorship primary, said his quest to seek the PDP nomination ticket is predicated on his desire to address developmental challenges facing the state.

While expressing optimism that he will clinch the ticket, he urged delegates to be circumspect as they vote, bearing in mind that he was on a mission to resolve the human and infrastructural deficits in Bayelsa State. He urged delegates to compare and contrast those who have clear visions to help the state grow and then those who also are waiting for the thing to fall on their laps.

“I am not an accidental leader. I prepared myself for leadership, and our state does not need accidental leaders at this time. We have to be deliberate in picking a leader. So I enjoin all delegates to support me in this exercise so that together we can impact and make a new life and we can change our state.”

Alaibe said the next four years will be critical to the state and urged people to be more concerned with how the next government will impact their lives. “I understand the challenges, the economic challenges, the infrastructural challenges, the socio political challenges and environmental challenges of this land.

He noted that the state had been plagued by insecurity occasioned by activities of gangs. He pleaded to disarm, rehabilitate and reintegrate youths involved in the menace in order to attract investors to the state. Alaibe said he was not a desperate politician and does not stand to gain anything from any election tainted by blood.
