Engr. Abdullahi Sirajo Jibrin, an All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Bauchi federal constituency in the 2023 elections, has lamented the inadequate reward system for party members in Bauchi State, urging the national leadership to recognize their loyalty, especially those who contested elections and suffered losses.
Engr. Abdullahi Sirajo Jibrin, an All Progressives Congress ( APC ) House of Representatives candidate for the Bauchi federal constituency in the 2023 elections, has criticized the party’s reward system in the state, calling it inadequate and unfair. Jibrin voiced his concerns on Monday during a courtesy visit to the newly elected APC chairman of Bauchi local government area.
He urged the party’s central leadership to recognize and reward the loyalty of its members who have remained steadfast despite electoral losses. The former candidate lamented that neither the APC gubernatorial candidate, his deputy, nor the three senatorial candidates from Bauchi State in the 2023 elections have been considered for any federal appointments. He called on President Bola Tinubu and the party’s national leadership to rectify this oversight by allocating appointive positions such as board memberships and other roles to those who actively contributed to the party’s efforts in the state.“We have problems with our reward system, especially regarding Bauchi State from the leadership at the centre. In some states, APC members, particularly governorship and senatorial candidates in the last general elections, were given such opportunities, but nothing has been done for Bauchi,” Jibrin stated. Jibrin stressed that it was time for the APC leadership at the national level to acknowledge the dedication of its members in Bauchi and ensure that those who contested and lost elections were not left behind in the party’s reward system. Despite his criticisms, he commended President Tinubu for his leadership and expressed optimism that the country would stabilize under his administration. During his visit, Jibrin demonstrated his commitment to the party by distributing food items to members at the local government and ward levels, particularly in light of the ongoing Ramadan fast. He expressed satisfaction that internal party issues, such as anti-party activities, had been effectively addressed
