A two-year old boy has been rescued from a mentally challenged lady suspected to be his mother in the Okinni area of Osun State.
The boy, called John Mary, was reportedly rescued from his mother on the Osogbo-Ilobu road by two persons whose identities were not disclosed.
A release signed by the Information Officer, Osun State Ministry of Women Affairs, Aminat Adebare, obtained in Osogbo on Wednesday, further said those that rescued the boy took him to Jaleyemi Hospital Motherless Baby Home, Osogbo, and thereafter notified the police.The statement, however, called on members of the public with relevant information that would enable government identify relations of the mother and child to contact the police.
It further read in part, “A two-year old baby boy named John Mary has been rescued from his mentally challenged mother in the middle of the road in Okinni, Osun State. “We, therefore, enjoin members of the public, with relevant information about the families of the boy or his unsound mother to contact the police at the Dada Estate Division, Osogbo.”All rights reserved.
