head coach, Deji Ayeni, is keen to get the first win of the 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Football League after his team suffered a defeat to the newly promoted Bendel Insurance in their first game of the season.

The Promise Keepers will face Enyimba on Wednesday at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba as they look to get a win in their second fixture of the new campaign.Ayeni said Akwa United would need to play with focus if they want to get back to winning ways in this game.“I think it’s non-negotiable, if Insurance can come to our backyard and get the three points, so we have told the players that we have to be resolute, determined, dedicated and very motivated for us to return to winning ways.

“Right from Tuesday that we started our training for the week, we flashed back to the shortcomings we had in our match against Insurance so we make sure that we set a programme that will make sure we get all those mistakes corrected so that all the players will be ready and willing to deliver on Wednesday,” he said.
