The national leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance has condemned the attack on the party’s delegates on Sunday in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

In a statement on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Tex Okechukwu, the party said its delegates officials were attacked during the party’s governorship primary.

“We wish to state clearly that the attacks on our members by somebody who did not even qualify or was granted a waiver to participate in the said governorship primary were totally unwarranted and unacceptable. According to the publicity secretary, the mastermind of the attack “came to purchase forms for the Imo State governorship primary. When the Waiver Committee went through her documents later, it was discovered that her application letter had no name on it and that she had yet to resign from the APC. On the strength of this discovery, the committee recommended that her application for waiver be refused.
