Akwa Ibom State Government announces N1 million cash rewards for exceptional staff and various grants for female youths and program winners.
The Akwa Ibom State Government announced on Wednesday that top-performing staff from various ministries and agencies within the state will each receive a N1 million cash reward. The announcement was made in a statement by Enobong Uwah, the chairman of the Organising Committee and Secretary to the State Government. The funds will be presented to the awardees on Thursday during the state's ARISE Happy Hour and Evening of Rewards .
Uwah explained that the awardees were selected during the December ministerial briefings, a gathering held to recognize and appreciate their contributions, excellence, and dedication to their duties.The ceremony will include a performance by renowned musician Flavour and will also recognize the best-performing local government areas from the Christmas Unplugged 2024 event. Governor Udom Emmanuel is expected to honor and reward individuals and groups who have excelled in their respective fields, with a particular emphasis on female youths, who are seen as the state's strongest supporters.In addition to the individual awards, the state government will also distribute N300 million to 400 female youths who participated in the Ibom LED Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program. Each participant will receive N750,000. Furthermore, 50 winners of the Arise Home Farmers Scheme will each be granted N500,000. There will also be awards presented to outstanding athletes from the 2024 Governor's Cup competition.
