Senate President Godswill Akpabio has condoled with the family of Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, the first civilian governor of Abia, who died on Thursday after a brief illness.
Akpabio said in a condolence message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Eseme Eyiboh, in Abuja on Friday, that “Onu was a perfect gentleman.“Onu was known for coming first in every endeavour he engaged in, and played politics without bitterness all his life.
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has approved the extension of the free bus scheme implemented by the state government for another three months. Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has condoled with the former governor of the state, Ibrahim Idris, over the demise of his son, and the former member, Mohammed Idris, who represented Ankpa/Olamaboro/Omala Federal Constituency in the green chamber.
Following the Northern Elders Forum ’s regret for supporting Bola Tinubu in the 2023 elections, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has advised the Northern elders to revert to the old alliance between them and the old Eastern Region for a formidable partnership.
