The federal high court sitting in Umuahia, the Abia State has dismissed the suit filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, challenging the eligibility of the
House of Assembly candidate of the Labour Party for Bende south state constituency seat election, Chijioke Nwankwo.
The suit alleged that the 3rd defendant did not attach evidence of educational qualifications as demanded by the 1st defendant to ascertain the qualification of a candidate under section 106 of the 1999 constitution. Meanwhile, reacting to the court verdict, Chijioke Nwankwo lauded the Nigerian judiciary for demonstrating it is a court of law and justice and cannot be misled.
Nwankwo used the medium also to extend a hand of friendship to his opponents to take the Bende south state constituency to a greater height when elected into the Abia house of assembly.
