Former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has disclosed that former President Goodluck Jonathan will not join the presidential race in 2027. Patience said Jonathan had occupied the highest political office in Nigeria and has no further political ambition.
Speaking while hosting the Greater Igbo Forum in Abuja, the former First Lady said Jonathan had held numerous significant political positions. She assured that the former president was committed to supporting President Bola Tinubu's administration. According to Patience Jonathan : “My husband has reached the pinnacle of political office. What is he looking for again? We are not going in again.
' She also called on the Igbo people to unite and focus on the collective good rather than personal or political differences. “We should love this country more than ourselves. Because if you don’t love this country, what is the future of our children?” she queried. She also urged the Igbo community to set aside politics and work towards unity and development. “Let us manage one another. Let us love ourselves. Let us be united and be our brother’s keepers,” she added.
