A Nigerian entertainment guru, Gbenga Adeyinka,has urged Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress, Kingsley Moghalu and other young candidates not to contest for presidency in the election.
The comedian said the best positions for the younger 2023 presidential candidates should be at the National Assembly. Speaking in a Podcast shared by The Cable, Adeyinka said all the young 2023 presidential candidates are needed in the National Assembly to help rewrite Nigeria's constitution. He said no president would dare act without caution with the politicians like Obi, Sowore, and Fela Durtoye in the Senate or even the House of Representatives.He also advised youths seeking to contest for political offices across the nation to begin from the grassroots.
His words, “There are some people who are professional politicians. That is their job. You now wake up and say you want to come, and… they will not even give you the ticket. With our current structure, it takes the grace of men for you to become president.
