VeryDarkMan (VDM), a controversial figure in Nigeria, has refused to testify before a House of Representatives committee investigating bribery allegations against officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service. VDM insists on the presence of Bobrisky, a crossdresser allegedly involved in the scandal, before providing his testimony.
VeryDarkMan will testify before the house of representatives joint committee on financial crimes and reformatory institutions, over bribery allegations against officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission , and Haliru Nababa, controller-general of the Nigeria n Correctional Service .
Dressed in a flowing traditional attire, VDM as he is also known, sauntered into the green chamber with Deji Adeyanju, his lawyer, in tow.in which Bobrisky purportedly claimed that she bribed some EFCC officials with N15 million to drop the money laundering charge against her.In the purported recording, the crossdresser also allegedly claimed that her “godfather”, alongside Nababa, ensured she served the six-month sentence in a private apartment and not in prison.
At the time of reporting, VDM has refused to address the committee because Bobrisky is not present. However, some members of the committee are imploring him to proceed with his testimony.Some lawmakers are demanding that VDM be arrested by the sergeant-at-arms if he does not want to speak “because he has already been put on oath”.VDM is however insisting that he would not say a word until Bobrisky shows up. “If I say anything, let me die,” he said.
