Queensland has recorded zero locally acquired COVID-19 cases.
Queensland has recorded zero locally acquired COVID-19 cases as authorities repeated the call for those aged 16 and older to get vaccinated.
"We will not be able to hold back community spread of COVID-19 unless we get vaccinated," Queensland's chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young said.State health minister Yvette D’Ath said she is pleased with the growth in the number of those vaccinated in the state. "We have done 45.24 per cent of the eligible population in Queensland for the first dose, and 26.8 per cent for the second. So this is fantastic. It is climbing every single day.
"And we know that we're going to get to those targets we have set ourselves of 80 per cent in no time." She said essential workers must be vaccinated if they are travelling across the Queensland-NSW border. More details to come.
